abstract = "Several studies highlight the rapid growth of nuclear energy in the scientific field. In regards to the naval scope, three branches stand out: (a) naval nuclear propulsion; (b) nuclear cargo transport; (c) scientific research vessels with nuclear equipment. The purpose of the present study is to evaluate the reach of nuclear techniques in those three branches from a scientific research optic, technological development and application. The present study was realized applying scientometrics techniques using a SCOPUS database. Results present advances and developments in first-world countries. In nuclear propulsion, United States and England lead the dissemination of high-quality research. In Latin America, Brazil is the top exponent in nuclear propulsion. Peru does not present advances in the area, there is no SCOPUS evidence, even so it{\textquoteright}s known, the principal activity in the naval nuclear industry centers in investigation projects like ANTAR in Antarctica.",
