The design of a test bench for engines up to 10 HP is intended to provide a measurement tool for the academic community to examine the fuel consumption and brake power of a combustion engine. Through the design methodology, VDI 2221, a study of the state of the art is carried out, then a list of requirements is developed that must meet the design objectives, solution concepts are developed that will be subjected to a technical and economic evaluation conceptual, where the optimal solution will be chosen. Then, in the mechanical design, a static analysis and the harmonic response will be carried out in the ANSYS software in order to contemplate the loads and vibrations coming from the motor, obtaining 2 and 15 for the transmissions and structure, respectively as safety factor values. that guarantee the safety of the design. Additionally, a guide prepared based on the SAE J1349 standard is made together with an experimental design on the measurement of the operating parameters of a combustion engine such as: power, torque, fuel consumption and revolutions per minute. Finally, the preparation of the assembly plans for its future manufacture.
