A good suspension and steering system is synonym for good handling race car on the track. Therefore this thesis is focused on the parameters that rule a good handling car suspension and direction systems wise. The parameters that are studied and proposed for the first formula sae race car of UTEC include camber, caster, kingpin inclination, ackerman geometry, roll center, bump steer, scrub radius and how these parameters are affecter by the dynamic behavior of the car. Because the suspension system carries the weight of the car is critical that we perform a structural study of the parts involved. Also, we conduct a buckling analysis for the push rods. The steel 1018 was selected for being a cost-effective material and it’s availability in Peru, Lima. At last, the safety factors for the control arms and push bar were set above 3 and the rest above 2. This is an indicator for good components strength.
