This research analyzes the economic impact of the development of concentrated solar power plants in the Peruvian electrical interconnected system for the period 2020-2030. This allows contemplate solution options for the coming energy price crisis. Consequently, this thesis analyzes the implementation of concentrated solar power plants as a possible solution to the aforementioned crisis, whose technology has had multiple advances in recent years that allow it to be located in an expectant position in the market. In addition, it contributes to diversify the energy matrix. The methodology used consists in gather information and, from this, analyze the current situation of the Peruvian electricity sector, with special emphasis on the generation activity. Based on this analysis, the main problems are established for the next ten years and solutions are proposed using criteria of energy availability and performance of the generation plants, their time and costs of implementation. In all the proposed scenarios, an energy price crisis is demonstrated in 2022, because the electricity demand for the 2019-2022 period will grow at a rate of 6.81% on average. Due to this, the plants whose generation is not efficient will begin to operate. The develop of concentrated solar power plants is proposed as a solution, because their times of implementation are the most convenient compared to other technologies.
