Abstract

The basic engineering of a hydrogen production plant has been developed. In this work, the results of the technical and economic assessment of a green hydrogen production plant with renewable energy in Peru, is presented. The hydrogen production plant employs a water splitting technology based on thermochemical cycles [1-2] powered by a concentrating solar plant and a photovoltaic power plant. This plant includes a hydrogen storage and hydrogen transportation systems to replace diesel fuel (1,15 millions of liters per year) by hydrogen within a truck fleet from a mining company in Peru.
