Abstract

The growing population has led to an increasing demand for food, which is why autonomous greenhouses are becoming increasingly popular in agribusiness. By controlling certain variables, it allows the creation of an optimal micro climate for vegetables. The objective of this research is to carry out a proof of concept of an autonomous greenhouse system for vegetables, with a supervision network for registration, control and monitoring. This system should create a suitable environment for vegetables by controlling variables such as temperature, humidity, CO2 and pH. Likewise, the research methodology developed is the VDI 2222 method, which is developed in four main stages, starting with: planning, concept, design and development; to determine the dimension, humidity, consumption and power. In addition, performing a critical analysis with the methodology used, there will be many solution concepts. Therefore, each function of the morphological matrix should be selected and its technical and economic evaluation should be carried out, in order to choose the best option for the design of the autonomous greenhouse. By verifying the proof of concept, it was possible to obtain a system capable of controlling an autonomous greenhouse, creating a suitable micro climate for vegetables, where certain parameters can be modified according to the type of vegetables to be grown. In addition, the proof of concept of the autonomous greenhouse leaves a lot of room for future research, especially it will have a basis for future implementation.
