Abstract

Cubesat system design research is oriented to optimize the operation of different and complementary sub-systems to minimize energy consumption and other variables that allow for the fulfillment of the satellite mission. The satellite small size is an structural and microelectronic challenge which can be overcome by carefully selecting highly integrated, programmable and low cost devices. These devices comprise main modules such as power management, central computer and payload which are protected by the satellite structure that interfaces these internal modules with the hostile temperature conditions of space. In this paper we present a methodology for estimating a 1U-cubesat structure temperature distribution in the transitory and stationary states.
