Abstract

We present the results of the teaching and researching methodology designed to develop research skills in undergraduate students from the Universidad de Ingenieriá y Tecnologiá (UTEC), Lima, Perú. Students at UTEC have to take four interdisciplinary projects also known as 'Vivir la Ingeneriá' (VLI), which are similar to Capstone projects. In this manuscript, we present the results of students who were trained using this methodology. We also discuss the research papers that were accepted in international conferences and a startup that was developed by a student and a professor. Also we suggest recommendations in order to improve the VLI projects. This information was obtained through a survey that was applied to professors and students from Electrical and Energy Engineering.
