Abstract

This study presents an experimental investigation into the potential of ceramic sanitary waste as a fine aggregate in high-performance recycled concrete. This work explores the feasibility of utilizing a typically discarded material in concrete production and advancing sustainable construction practices. The experimental approach involved replacing conventional fine aggregates with processed ceramic sanitary waste. The primary focus was evaluating the workability and compressive strength characteristics of the concrete. Workability was assessed using standard slump flow test, while compressive strength was measured at two curing ages: 7 and 28 days. The concrete with recycled aggregate demonstrated workability and compressive strength properties similar to the reference concrete produced with conventional materials. These results suggest ceramic sanitary waste can replace natural aggregates, offering a dual benefit of waste management and resource conservation in the construction industry.
