Bachelor of Science with a major in Civil Engineering from the National University of Engineering, Lima, Master in Disaster Management at the National Graduate Institute for Policy studies (GRIPS), Tokyo, Japan, and Ph.D. in structural engineering from Kyoto University, Japan. Dr. Bedriñana is currently a professor and researcher in the Civil Engineering department at the University of Engineering and Technology - UTEC, in addition to being the coordinator of the Structural Engineering division and a professor at the Graduate School - UTEC. Dr. Bedriñana is an affiliate member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), Earthquake Engineering Research Institute (EERI), and ASTM International, where he is part of committee C27-Precast Concrete Products. His research interests include the numerical-experimental evaluation of the seismic performance of reinforced concrete and precast concrete structures, seismic isolation and structural response control, structural evaluation and diagnosis of heritage structures, and applications of Machine Learning in Seismic Engineering. In 2016, Dr. Bedriñana was awarded the best article award within the framework of the 11th Symposium of doctoral students in Civil Engineering, awarded by the International Federation for Structural Concrete (fib). Dr. Bedriñana is a certified researcher in Peru (RENACYT Researcher) and has various scientific publications in high-impact Journals and international conferences. He is a peer-reviewer for international journals and a reviewer of research proposals at Peruvian universities. Additionally, he has experience as a Structural Engineer and consultant in seismic design, structural evaluation and reinforcement of reinforced concrete structures such as buildings, bridges, elevated reservoirs and tunnels. Dr. Bedriñana is a registered engineer in Peru (CIP-CDLima).
