Personal profile

Professional profile

PhD in Biology from the Autonomous University of Madrid, with international experience in interdisciplinary research in marine systems, zooarchaeology, paleogenetics, and genomics. Her profile combines scientific research with an applied approach to sustainability. She was a researcher under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions program (Horizon 2020), where she developed competencies in data management, open science, and genomic-computational tools across various European institutions.

She has worked as a researcher at the Marine Research Institute (IIM-CSIC, Vigo) and the National Museum of Natural Sciences (MNCN-CSIC) of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC). She also conducted research stays in ancient DNA at the Department of Cultural Heritage of the University of Bologna (Ravenna, Italy), expanding her expertise in genetic analysis applied to archaeological and cultural contexts. Her research integrates paleoclimatic reconstruction, bioinformatics, and archaeobiological evidence to analyze historical patterns of marine resource exploitation from a long-term sustainability perspective.

She holds a Master’s degree in Marine and Lacustrine Science and Management from Vrije Universiteit Brussel, the University of Antwerp, and Ghent University (Belgium). Additionally, she has developed applied research in sustainability and emissions mitigation in the maritime sector using multi-objective optimization models.

She is currently a Teaching and Research Faculty member in the Department of Environmental Engineering at the University of Engineering and Technology (UTEC), and has taught courses and conducted research in sustainability, green logistics, and advanced research methods at the University of Europe for Applied Sciences (Germany).
