Dr. Heinner Guio is a physician and researcher with a strong international background in medical sciences, genetics, and genomics. He earned his Medical Doctor (MD) degree from Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia in Lima, where he developed a solid foundation in clinical medicine and public health. He later pursued a PhD in Medical Sciences at Tohoku University in Japan, specializing in infectious and respiratory diseases, with a focus on immune response. He subsequently completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Imperial College London in the United Kingdom, where he further advanced his research in infectious diseases and immunology within a leading scientific environment. More recently, he strengthened his expertise in precision medicine through the Medical Genetics and Genomics Certificate Program at the National Human Genome Research Institute (NIH, USA). His multidisciplinary training integrates clinical practice with advanced genomic research, positioning him as a leading figure in population genomics and precision medicine in Latin America.
