Research interests
Aurea Soriano Vargas is a Research Professor in Computer Science at the Universidad de Ingeniería y Tecnología (UTEC), Peru. She earned her Ph.D. (2018) and M.Sc. (2013) in Computer Science and Computational Mathematics from the University of São Paulo (USP), Brazil, and obtained her Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering from Universidad Católica San Pablo, Arequipa, Peru, in 2009.
She has international experience, having worked as a Junior Researcher at the University of California, Davis, from October 2015 to September 2016. Later, she participated in two postdoctoral projects at the University of Campinas (Unicamp), Brazil, in collaboration with Shell between 2018 and 2021. She also served as a Senior Researcher in Artificial Intelligence and Research Coordinator of the Viva Bem Hub at Recod.ai, Institute of Computing at Unicamp, in collaboration with Samsung.
