Organization profile

About

The Center for Research in Sustainable Computing – COMPSUST was established in June 2020. Its core focus is to identify, promote, and provide computational solutions to issues related to balancing environmental, economic, and social needs for sustainable development and future.

Within its thematic pillars, COMPSUST develops the following specific research lines: 'Analytics & Decision Science, Data Science, Operations Research, Cybersecurity, Software Engineering, and Artificial Intelligence.'

As its main infrastructure, COMPSUST boasts a High-Performance Computing (HPC) cluster named Khipu. This cluster is dedicated to high-performance computing and features 280 CPU cores, 2560 CUDA cores GPU, 896 GB of RAM, and 41,340 GB of storage. The connection between nodes utilizes high-speed InfiniBand technology, enabling parallel and distributed high-performance computing, essential for executing algorithms with significant computational demands.
