About
The Biomedical Engineering Research Center (BIO) was founded in October 2019, emerging from the need to integrate engineering with biology and medicine. The central goal of the center is to generate affordable, low-cost solutions and technologies for low-income markets. This process involves identifying needs that lead to exploring new strategies for solving complex problems in an interdisciplinary, multidisciplinary, and transdisciplinary manner, both in the biomedical and biotechnological fields.
BIO aims to become a reference center in these areas and to lead research and technological innovation in its research lines, while also attracting qualified talent.
